How We Work

Our Process

faqs

Scope

Discovery Call

This is our initial consultation. During this call we aim to learn about you and your business. We finish the call with a scope of work, any objectives and / or goals you may have, budget and timeline.

Sitemap

We compile an initial sitemap inspired by your brief and current website (if applicable). This sitemap provides an understanding of the scale and complexity of your project. Our clients enjoy being able to visualise site structure and user journeys at this early stage.

Proposal

We send you our tailored proposal which includes the sitemap, scope of work, timeline, and cost. In addition to this, your proposal will provide further information on vital aspects of websites, such as hosting, security, SEO, and content management system (CMS) editing.

Getting Started

Once you have approved the proposal, scope of work, and quote we will raise an invoice for the project's deposit (50%). Visit our FAQ page for more information on how we bill for our work.

Discover

Strategy Call

This is the projects kick off call and our main focus will be research for the design stage - but we will cover all aspects of the project, including handover of brand assets (e.g. logos).

Discovery Questionnaire

We supply you with our discovery questionnaire. Your answers help our team a greater understanding of topics like company and website goals, competitors, websites you do and don't like, and much more.

Target Market / Users

We work with you to define the website's target market in addition to user profiling. Both activities help us design and build web experiences suited to the different personalities using the website - your existing and potential customers.

Content Map

Once we’ve completed discovery, we build the content map. What content you’ll have and where it’s going to go. We use a tool called Flowmap to create the site maps and content maps. This map will serve as wireframes to what pages, sections, elements and content your website will feature.

Design

Establishing The Style

Building on the foundations laid in the scoping and discovery stages, we use Adobe XD to design your new homepage (or key template) from scratch. Once the homepage design has been reviewed and approved, it serves as the creative direction for the key page designs.

Key Page Designs

Our designers then roll out the creative direction (layout, style, and elements) across the rest of the key pages using your content, or if that's not ready, targeted placeholder content. All designs adhere to UX and UI best practices and will conform to any accessibility guidelines you need us to meet.

Presenting the Designs

We will schedule a meeting to present the designs to you. You'll need some time to review the designs, so we'll provide you with a link to view them online. After collating feedback from your team we meet again to discuss any changes required.

Once the designs are approved, we move into the build stage.

Build

Webflow Development

The approved designs now become development blueprints to build your website. Webflow enables us to build bespoke websites from the ground up, using nothing but clean, semantic HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript code. We can provide live preview links of the build so you can follow along as we go.

Custom Development

During the scoping stage, we may have identified functionality that requires custom development. This could be custom API integrations, adding membership functionality, MailChimp, custom forms, Typeform etc.

SEO

No more plugins to manage SEO, it's baked right into Webflow - learn more. On every website we build we complete the following optimisations, many are per-page, some cover the whole website:

- Logical URL structuring
- Per page heading structure (H1,H2,H3...)
- Page titles
- Meta descriptions
- Link pre-loads
- HTML tags
- Alt text on all media
- Lazy load specific media
- Open Graph data (used in sharing socially)
- Dynamic optimisation data (used in CMS and e-commerce websites)
- XML sitemaps
- Robots.txt
- Website language tag
- 301 redirects
- Google analytics & search console integration

Content Population

Adding all of your content in from titles to paragraphs and pictures to videos.

CMS Population

If we're building completely custom databases for dynamic content on your new website, now is the time to input all that data. From team members to blog posts, case studies, and job openings, it's usually done by importing CSV spreadsheets.

Product Population (Ecommerce)

If we're building ecommerce functionality for your new website, now is the time to input all your products. Usually this is done by importing CSV spreadsheets.

Testing

If we're building e-commerce functionality for your new website, now is the time to input all your products. Usually this is done by importing CSV spreadsheets.

Deliver

CMS Training

We provide you with our training videos, getting you up to speed with your branded Editor area. Make easy content updates right on the page.

We can also provide bespoke training, walking you through each aspect of your Editor and how to use it, this can be on a one to one basis, or provided to a whole team.

Handover

We have a final meeting to run through the website for review and approval. During this meeting we can walk you through any integrations or custom functionality that's been built.

Website Launch

Launching your website on Webflow's hosting network, powered by Amazon Web Services, is a fast, reliable, and hassle-free process - learn more about hosting.
